The song that started it all.
Whenever we play Opus, I always tell the audience that it's my favorite FlipCharts song. And that's because it's the first song that Phil ever shared with me. It was 1986, shortly after we met. Hanging out in his Weinstein dorm room at NYU, I remember sitting on the floor and being bowled over by the beauty and artistry of the then instrumental version. Anyone who knows Phil knows that he can be a man of few words. These were the most powerful words I think I've heard him say.
I'm honored to be able to play this song together and I hope you enjoy its many alternative versions too!
